This has been a good year. (But aren't they all – especially when you have faced the alternative?) Mountain Stage was the big one for us. In September we were on the show with Kasey Chambers, The Greencards, Jedd Hughes, and Tony Joe White. It was an incredible lineup and we thought we'd have to apply for Australian citizenship before it was over. The Mountain Stage band and crew were simply the best folks we could have hoped to work with.
We organized two benefit events for the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund and had outrageous support from West Virginia musicians and the general public for these events. Our cup was overflowing with musical talent generously offered, including the considerable talents of Ginny Hawker and Tracy Schwarz. El Gran Sabor hosted both events and owners Rob and Derdelim Masten kept the musicians well fed and watered.
