The GinSangers
Press Release

The GinSangers will be appearing at (Venue Name) on (Day and Date) at (Time).

When you take the musical tour with The GinSangers, you take the blue highways into the heart and roots of American music. The music is real. It crosses all the lines of blues, country, swing and traditional. Townsend and Parker have taken their music all over West Virginia and the Appalachian region and from New England to Louisiana, playing honky-tonks, coffeehouses, concerts, festivals, jam sessions, radio shows, restaurants and songwriter showcases. In August of 2005, they made their debut on Mountain Stage, where they shared the stage with Kasey Chambers, The Greencards and Tony Joe White.

Townsend and Parker are award-winning songwriters. In 2003 they won the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest - considered by many to be the preeminent Americana festival in the United States. That same year their work was recognized at the Mountain Stage NewSong Fest and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Their songs have been described as sweet, gritty, edgy and true.

At a GinSangers concert you can expect to hear a unique and sweet voice delivering a mix or original and cover songs that range in flavor from country to blues and swing to traditional. At a GinSangers show, you'll hear a mix of original and cover songs that range in flavor from country, blues and swing to traditional. A number of reviewers have noted that Parker and Townsend's original work blends seamlessly with the body of great American music. They often appear with veteran percussionist Jeff Broschart.

Connie has recorded and released four albums - These Hills and Gentle Graces, both of which have been very well received. The GinSangers have a live recording, The Ginsangers Live available at shows. Their most recent recording is The Weight of Light. We hope you'll join The GinSangers on (Day, Date and Time) for an evening of country blues and swing.
